Our Story – From Topic Resources to Brainblox

Brainblox began its journey in 2010 under the original name Topic Resources. Founded by experienced teacher Helen Mulroy, the platform was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to share the vast library of high-quality teaching resources Helen had developed over her long career in education. Recognising the potential of the internet to reach and support other educators, Helen launched her first online shop, Topic Resources, which successfully served the teaching community for over a decade.

In 2025, Helen reimagined the brand, combining her trusted original materials with a fresh range of new resources. The result was Brainblox—a modern, user-friendly platform designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s primary educators.

From the beginning, Helen’s mission has remained the same: to provide reliable, accessible, and time-saving teaching resources that empower teachers and enhance classroom learning. By sharing materials that were created with care and used in real classrooms, Brainblox helps educators focus on what matters most—teaching and inspiring children.
